How often do I change the 5-micron sediment filter?

When the water flow reduces the filter should be changed and always be aware that a new pre filter prolongs the life of the carbon block filter.

How often do I change the carbon block filter?

Once a year unless used in extremely dirty water conditions.

How do I change the filters, UV Light or Pump?

Filters

  1. Make sure unit is turned off and unplugged.
  2. Place the plastic filter wrench around the filter housing of the 5 micron pre-filter on the left (intake) side of the unit and remove it by turning counter clockwise until the filter housing becomes free from the top mount.
  3. Pull the filter out, wipe the housing clean and replace with a new pre-filter.
  4. And/or place the plastic filter wrench around the filter housing of the 0.5 micron carbon block filter on the right (discharge) side of the unit and remove it by turning counter clockwise until the filter housing becomes free from the top mount.
  5. Carefully pull the filter away from the top mount and the UV light, wipe the housing dlean and replace with a new carbon block filter.

How often do I change the UV light?

Once a year unless the green indicator light is off during the year of use.

How do I know the UV light is operating?

There is a green indicator light on top of the bracket mounting the carbon block filter.

Why does the unit shut off while running solar direct?

There is built-in low-voltage protection to shut the light and the pump off simultaneously to protect the consumer from drinking untreated water. The system shuts down when the voltage drops below 11.4 volts and after a 3-minute delay will restart.

If there is still low-light low-voltage situation the system will stop again for 3 minutes. When full sunlight resumes the system will start and continue to run.

How do I use my E1, E2 and E3?

  1. Place the case within 6 feet of your water source, but do not place the case in the water. Keep the unit dry. Open the case.
  2. Grab the unit by the back plate and stand the unit upright in the case or remove the unit from the case and lean it against a secure object so you have ease of access to move and use the hoses.
  3. Take the longer hose on the left side of the unit with the filter screen end and place it into the water source so it is completely covred with water, being careful that the filter screen will not get plugged with debris.
  4. Take the shorter hose exiting the right side of the unit and place it back into your water source.
  5. Plug in to your 110 volt power source and turn the switch from “OFF” to “ON”. Let the unit run for 3 minutes before placing the shorter exit hose into your clean receiving water container for consumption.
  6. Turn to “OFF” when complete. Unplug the 110 volt power source.
  7. Drain hose and repack into the storage case.

For battery use:

  1. Remove the battery connection assembly from the bottom of the case and plug it into the E1 near the switch. Make sure the switch is in “OFF” position.
  2. Connect the red (+) and black (-) cliips to the 12-volt battery.
  3. Turn switch to “ON”, run the water for 3 minutes before using it for drinking water.
  4. When finished, turn the switch to “OFF” position, disconnect the red (+) and black (-) clips from the 12-volt battery.
  5. Unplug and place the battery connection assembly back into the bottom of the case for safe dry storage.

E2 solar use:

  1. Open up the solar panels and place them within 15 feet of the E1 and against a secrue object at an angle facing directly towards teh sunlight without any shadows on the panels.
  2. Plug the solar panel wire into the E1 near the switch. Make sure the E1 switch is in the “OFF” position.
  3. Turn the switch to “SOLAR” on the pump. Run the water for 3 minutes before using it for drinking water.
  4. When finished, turn the switch to “OFF” position, unplug the solar panel wire, and roll up the cord.
  5. Close the solar panel with the cord placed inside the solar panel case.

Caution:

  • • Use only fresh water source and let run for 3 minutes before using the water for drinking.
  • • There are glass components. Use care in handling and shipping.
  • • Use only the pump supplied and/or recommended by EnsureLife as the pressure is critical for the UV light to operate correctly.
  • • Never look directly at the harmful ultraviolet rays of the purification light.
  • • Do not touch the UV light with your bare hands.
  • • Maintain the same length of the hoses supplied for optimal use of the system.
